    Is there a way to change the size of the image slider – client would like to use images that he doesn’t want cropped. The width is ok but there are images where the top and bottom won’t show with the current sizing (tops of buildings cut off, or the grounds around buildings). I tried uploading some, and clicking on the image will open it to its full size, but would like this open size to be the size of the slider.

    I tried this code I found elsewhere but it didn’t do the trick:

    #top .slideshow {

    overflow: visible;

    }

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Are you talking about the full width slider? You can find the image size on functions.php

    $avia_config['imgSize']['featured'] = array('width'=>990, 'height'=>360 ); // images for fullsize pages and fullsize slider

    You can disable the cropping, just replace the code above with this

    $avia_config['imgSize']['featured'] = array('width'=>990, 'height'=>360, 'crop'=>false); // images for fullsize pages and fullsize slider

    Regenerate the thumbnails. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    Suggested image size is 990x360px.

    Actually, the width is fine it’s the height. The images are being cropped top and bottom. Thanks again Ismael for your help!

    Hi!

    Did you try Ismaels suggestion above? If the crop parameter is set to “false” wp should crop the image but it will preserve the original aspect ratio. Don’t forget to regenerate the thumbnails.

    Best regards,

    Hi! I still have not been able to get this to work.

    I’ve tried to isolate a slideshow on a page and work with it so I can learn at the same time. http://mississaugaribfest.com/best-of-2012/.

    I tried adding the code above to the CSS, but it made no difference.

    Also, I don’t understand what it means to regenerate the thumbnails. I found a plugin for the purpose, but it doesn’t work either.

    The image sizes are 1024 x 682. The width is fine, it’s the height I need to adjust.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

    Please follow the instructions I laid out then regenerate the thumbnails.

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    Install the plugin, activate, go to Tools > Regen. Thumbnails.

    Regards,

    Ismael
