    Hi, I am working on a site and I am wondering how to go in and change the background in the content area. I would like to put a light canvas texture behind the text content.

    Also, I would like to change the color strip to a custom image to match the header image i’ve used: is this easily done?

    Thanks so much!

    Hey,

    The code which controls the content area background (currently white) can be found in /css/light-skin.css on line 59 and looks like this:

    .boxed {
    background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #FFFFFF;
    border: 1px solid #E1E1E1;
    }

    I strongly recommend against making changes here (mainly because any future theme update will overwrite the changes you make); instead use the /css/custom.css file (here: http://coyaba.dev.amermancreative.com/wp-content/themes/broadscope/css/custom.css) and add this code (changing the background to your image path):

    .boxed {
    background: url(my/image/path.jpg) repeat #FFFFFF !important;
    }

    Note that in addition to the background image you should also add a colour if the image is transparent at all.

    Thank you!! That worked! Also, I think we must have removed the code for the slideshow, do you know the code to put it back in and where we should place the code?

    Hey,

    try to replace header.php and includes/featured-images-slideshow.php with the original files. If that doesn’t help you maybe need to replace the loop templates.
