Most of the pictures i’m attempting to use on the website are portrait rather than landscape. So, when the image is stretched to fill the portolio items page, it’s too tall so the main text gets pushed down too far.
How does one control the size of a picture on the main item page? Should i handle this in CSS or in the php code and if so, where.
See here for an example: http://stirlingstoneworks.com/portfolio-item/family-crests-corporate-icons/
Also, clicking on the image gives me a smaller lightbox not a larger image.
You can change the thumbnail sizes in functions.php. Open up the file and search for following code:
$avia_config['imgSize']['fullsize'] = array('width'=>930, 'height'=>930, 'crop'=>false); // big images for lightbox and portfolio single entries
Decrease the height value and if this doesn’t help activate the “crop” feature by replacing false with true. You need to regenerate the thumbnails with: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
