When submitting a contact form entry all fields validate and the email is sent, but the success message on the form page remains blank. After inspection I see that the server returns a 500 error (without further details) after submitting.
Any clues?

Hi eroelofs,
My first suggestion would be to confirm your web host is setup to send emails. Try the plugin that Nick recommends in this thread -
