    I am new to these themes and thought that the main page slider ‘tool’ for CleanCut and Avisio was the same — but with respect to the captions, I do not see where in CleanCut to make adjustments to the captions/title overlays that are shown in the Avisio demo — again, isn’t it the same AviaSlider tool? are there different versions? Do I need to upgrade the AviaSlider in CleanCut to a newer version?

    I need to be able to have this functionality to be able to adjust the size/layout of the caption overlay, and would have gone with Avisio but CleanCut had a couple features of the theme layout that we preferred over Avisio. However, if the capability to adjust the captions style/layout, etc is not possible in CleanCut, could that section be remarked out or removed so that the WP Plug-In “DisplayBuddy”, which provides for more display options, be used instead?

    Otherwise, the themes are very nice, clean, thank you

    Hey,

    CleanCut’s and Avisio’s sliders are the same (AviaSlider) but they offer different backend options. That’s why Avisio’s slider caption can be different compared to CleanCuts. What do you want to change exactly?

    Thank you, I want to create a side image 1/2 height and/or full left or right side (top to bottom) caption/txt overlay (description?) with customizable widths (as in 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 3/4 widths of image) as I only see a full bottom horizontal default on CleanCut

    Hey,

    you can change the width of the overlay/description by changing following code in style.css:

    #top .feature_excerpt{
    width:850px;
    position: absolute;
    display: none;
    bottom: 0;
    left:0;
    z-index: 3;
    padding:20px 30px 30px 30px;
    font-size: 11.5px;
    line-height:1.5em;
    }

    Change the value of width (at the moment 850px) to a lower value.

    Thank you, I was able to change the width,…

    1) is there a way to adjust the height (ex. to automatically have it the same height as the image ro slideshow box

    2) is there a way to allow the slider Title to appear even if there is no description? (or the description without the title?) I’d like to be able to have a single short line of text entered instead of the default Title+Description only.

    1) Yes just add an height attribute to the css code I posted above like:

    #top .feature_excerpt{
    width:850px;
    height:200px !important;
    position: absolute;
    display: none;
    bottom: 0;
    left:0;
    z-index: 3;
    padding:20px 30px 30px 30px;
    font-size: 11.5px;
    line-height:1.5em;
    }

    2) Yes that’s possible – just search for following code in kclass_display_slideshow.php (located under cleancutframeworkclasses)

    if($caption != "")
    {
    $this->slider .= "<span class='feature_excerpt'>";
    $this->slider .= "<strong class='sliderheading'>".get_the_title()."</strong>";
    $this->slider .= "<span class='sliderdate'>".get_the_time('M d, Y')."</span>";
    $this->slider .= "<span class='slidercontent'>";
    $this->slider .= $caption;
    $this->slider .= "</span></span>";
    }

    and replace it with:

    $this->slider .= "<span class='feature_excerpt'>";
    $this->slider .= "<strong class='sliderheading'>".get_the_title()."</strong>";
    $this->slider .= "<span class='sliderdate'>".get_the_time('M d, Y')."</span>";
    $this->slider .= "<span class='slidercontent'>";
    $this->slider .= $caption;
    $this->slider .= "</span></span>";
