Color Section

Hi there,
need a hand. I have recently experienced problems with color section. I use them in order to set a background and strecht the image, or to set a color to the section.
My problem is that in the past, this was simple, I set all content in the color section box and worked fine. Now, this has changed. If I do it like before, the section not only covers whats in the section, it also takes anything that is bellow that section!!. In order to stop this, i need to put in another color section behind the content one, in order to stop the section taking over the rest of the page. The problem is that if I do so, I keep having an empty blank area (with a top and bellow line) with no content in it. This looks strange…. What I’m doing wrong? How can I stop this?
Seriously much easier some time back, whatever was in the box was applied, whatever out of it, remained as it should.
