If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
I’m currently using the Newscast theme on my website touchAholics.com, and since have been getting tons of spam daily.
How do I stop this? I’ve got Contact Form 7 but don’t know where to paste the code!
Contact form 7 offers shortcodes – just paste the shortcode in your post/page content where you want to insert the contact form.
Thanks Dude! However, how do I stop the spam from coming? I’ve disabled the ‘Submit News’ button on the home page because I think that’s where it was coming from.
I would love to get it back, but how do I add a CAPTCHA to it or something?
Thanks for your time,
I believe what Dude meant is that when you go to your Contact Form 7 settings, you can generate a CAPTCHA tag using the “Generate Tag” button. This code can then be pasted wherever you’d like your captcha to be.
Thanks Chris for your input. However, I’m not very good with this type of stuff, so could you guide me as to where exactly I would put this CAPTCHA code from Contact Form 7, into which file?
Thanks for your help, really appreciated.
You need to install this plugin first: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/really-simple-captcha/
Then follow the instructions here: http://contactform7.com/blog/2009/11/25/captcha/
and add your contact form shortcode on a post/page of your choice by using the shortcode Contact form 7 displays on the very top (if it’s the first contact form it will look like:
[contact-form 1 "Contact form 1"]
Is there anyway to make the Contact Form appear as a pop-up like the original ‘Contact’ thing that comes with this page?
Thanks for the help guys.
