Content not showing up on restricted pages

I have a series of pages whch have restricted access,when i view the page in the administrator’s screens the content shows up without any issues. However if i then try to view the content as a page or preview it i get the following error.

“Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at (Email address hidden if logged out) to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

The page should be accessible to administrators and other groups but none of it shows up when you log in.
No idea why this is happening as i was transferring a site from other hosting and now nothing is showing up.
I know it s somethign very simple.
