Control the amount of text shown by the Flagship Latest News widget

Hi

How can I control the amount of text that the Flagship Latest News widget show as a summery in my right sidebar? I really would like to reduce the amount of text to about 1/3.

Hi,

You can edit the excerpt for each post. Look for the excerpt box. If you don't see it, find screen options on the upper right then tick the excerpt option.

Ok, I was hoping that I would not have to use that manual function and there would be an option to set at max. number of caracters or words to include in the summery.
