I have a weird question. I have two websites, one using Enfold, one use FormFlex. They both have slightly different purposes but I have created a template that is shared between to the two websites.
Within that template I have a pricing table that leads to a checkout. Is there a way to link the “sign up” button to a particular page on BOTH websites that share the same link. This is going to be confusing so I want to create an example.
WebsiteA.com/pricing would have a button that goes to … websiteA.com/pricing/OptionA…
Is there a way to create the EXACT same link but when I paste it into websiteB.com it actually goes to websiteB.com/pricing/OptionA…
Basically the reason for this is because that template I told you about has a master file on my FTP so I only want to have to update one file between the two websites and have both update, but for that to happen I have to be able to create an internal link that goes to a specific permalink inside the website regardless of what domain I put it on. I thought simply /pricing/optionA would work but I was wrong.
Any ideas? Impossible? Or am I just an idiot.
I just tested this with a button on my server and a relative link should work just fine. You MUST make sure that the href value DOES NOT contain a http:// or https:// prefix otherwise the browser thinks it’s an absolute url to another website and it will not use the current domain as root domain. You also need to be careful with the slashes. Sometimes the url /pricing/optionA won’t work whereas /pricing/optionA/ works just fine.
