    Hello.

    I have an question I would love to get some help with.

    Can I place an image next to the logo that link to an specific site?

    Like an 65×65 pixels button that would lead to whatever link I would choose, I am open for suggestions in changing the code.

    Best regards

    Robin

    Hey,

    in your style.css you can add

    float: left;

    in

    #top .bg-logo, #top .bg-logo a{
    text-indent: -9999px;
    height:95px;
    width:186px;
    }

    at the bottom of the file you can add

    .nexttologo{
    float:left;
    display:block;
    margin-top:20px;
    width:65px;
    height:65px;
    background:#ff0099;
    text-indent:-9999px;
    }

    change the background color (#ff0099) to

    url('LINKTOYOURIMAGE');

    In your header.php file you’ll find

    echo avia_logo();

    put this piece of code below that line

    echo '<a class="nexttologo" href="http://google.com">Link</a>';

    Hope this works for you :)

    It did sound good :) But It diden’t work, my URL is http://www.victoryspa.se

    Hope we can make this happen, it would be great! About nothing shown up even when I added the lines of code.

    Best regards

    Please add the code Chris posted above to header.php. We’ll investigate why it doesn’t work. At the moment there’s no output at all.

    #52385

    Okay, now I added everything again, (And the .nexttologo in the header.php as well , don’t know if this matter)

    Now it shows up, but in the wrong place, it shows up under the logo under the Navbar

    Best Regards

    Hmm now the button dosen’t show anymore at all, weird! I will wait for your opinion :)

    #52387

    Your style code for .nexttologo needs to be in html style/css tags or you can put in a stylesheets. At the moment it’s just plain text…

    #52388

    Care to explain? What should I add to to the code? <>?

    I mean it’s embedded with {} or how to explain it.

    but it should be added in the style.css right?

    Regard

    Robin

    Yes but at the moments you’re using html/inline css (you can see that your website displays the css text):

    .nexttologo{ float:left; display:block; margin-top:20px; width:65px; height:65px; background:url('http://www.victoryspa.se/webbkatalog/katalogikon.png'); text-indent:-9999px; }

    at the very top. You need to wrap it into css tags like:

    <style type="text/css">
    .nexttologo{ float:left; display:block; margin-top:20px; width:65px; height:65px; background:url('http://www.victoryspa.se/webbkatalog/katalogikon.png'); text-indent:-9999px; }
    </style>

    or use a stylesheet like css/custom.css instead.

    Okay, Should I place the hole code at the top or the tags on the top of the style.css file and the </style> below the nexttologo code? So the hole Style.css file get’s wrapped in the <style> tags?

    Or should I just leave the .nexttologo at the button and just wrap this line of codes in the <style> tags?

    I did wrap the nexttologo lines of code with the <style> tags, and it worked for a while, but then I guess I must have changed something becuase now it’s just a bloody line of code with no meaning that are showin on the site. So I did remove the hole .nexttologo lines of code just so the website would not look like shit while figuering htis out, but the line of code just won’t go away no matter what (Correction it’s only visible in explorer and Chrome, Firefox won’t show it.)

    So what should I do?

    Best Regards

    Robin

    #52391

    At the moment the code looks like:

    <!-- ####### END HEAD CONTAINER ####### -->

    .nexttologo{
    float:left;
    display:block;
    margin-top:20px;
    width:65px;
    height:65px;
    background:url('http://www.victoryspa.se/webbkatalog/katalogikon.png');
    text-indent:-9999px;
    }

    and I assume it’s located in header.php. Delete the css code and put it in a stylesheet (css/custom.css). I wouldn’t use style tags…

    #52392

    Okay, I will put it in a stylesheet, care to explain more about how to get this stylesheet to work properly? Like give me some stages to do to get it working properly?

    I would appriciate it very much! I am very happy for your help, and it’s very good to know how to do this since I will buy another licens of the very same theme to create another site.

    Funny thing, I haven’t changed a thing and suddenly the line of text isen’t showing anymore in any browser… and yes I have removed all previous history, chache and cookies just to ensure I would have a fresh browser, I did install an all fresh one just to be on the safe side, but I believe that my webbstorage have been slow on the updates or something since it’s been such a mess with that line of text / code.. (Might have been WP-Chache plugin that have caused this problem, shame on me)

    Best regards and thanks for all your help, Robin

    #52393

    If the server configuration is correct the modification will be visible after you uploaded the stylesheet. If you’re using a cache plugin (i.e W3TC, SuperCache, etc.) you might need to clear the cache. Sometimes you need to clear your browser cache too (depends on the server settings, browser, etc.).

    #52394

    I have created the custom.css , and I have added the following code to it

    .nexttologo{

    float:left;

    display:block;

    margin-top:20px;

    width:65px;

    height:65px;

    background:url(‘http://www.victoryspa.se/webbkatalog/katalogikon.png’);

    text-indent:-9999px;

    }

    What and where should I put in the style.css(?) to get it to show?

    Regards

    Robin

    #52395

    You can place it at the very end/bottom of the file (style.css). I’d use a ftp software like filezilla though – navigate to wp-content/themes/upscale/css/custom.css download the file, modify it and upload it again.

    #52396

    Ah okay, I diden’t realize there was an custom.css already.. thanks.

    Only problem now is that the button dosen’t line up with the logo, it goes below it.

    After the first instructions my “#top .bg-logo, #top .bg-logo a{“

    Looks like this:

    #top .bg-logo, #top .bg-logo a{

    float: left;

    text-indent: -9999px;

    height:60px;

    width:400px;

    }

    Is there any changes I need to make here to get the new button to line up next to the logo instead of below it?

    Thanks for your help!

    Best regards

    Robin

    #52397

    Hey,

    in your style.css file find

    #top .logo {
    margin-bottom: 5px;
