    I’d like to make some modifications to a template file (includes/helper-main-menu.php) and also I have lots of CSS changes that I have placed into the Quick CSS field.
    I think it would be better to create a child theme of Enfold, and place this modified template file and my extra CSS in this new theme.
    I tried creating a child theme of Enfold but it did not display any of the styling that I had applied via the WYSIWYG WP interface so it looked like a plain Enfold template.
    What’s the best way to create a child theme? Would this be the best way to accomplish what I want (change a template file and add an extra CSS file)?

    I create a simple child theme in this video: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/

    And you can download one there on that page. If you are familiar with github I have a repo you can download/fork as well https://github.com/DevinVinson/enfold-child-starter

    All of your css would go in the child theme style.css.

    I created a child theme, imported the parent theme data using that quick easy button in the ‘import / export’ tab.
    Then I had to fix my settings for my menu.
    And save the Enfold theme quick css.
    And my child theme looks normal now.

    Kriesi never updated the blank one from the bit.ly link so I created my own repo with a few included functions and the shortcode folder already set up.

    When I move the documentation site to the new version soon that link will be removed in favor of the new downloads section pointing to my child theme (or potentially a further tweaked one by Kriesi). When I wrote and recorded the video for the child themes I hadn’t yet done the git repo yet :)

    the necessary tools are not installed. editor tool does not appear.

    The editor content on the page looks white. no icon
