creating a new page template

   I want to create a page template for case studies, but I want to have it be the same as the portfolio items. Is there a simple way to get that format with the slider of images to the left (that scales the images automatically, instead of the nivo slider that shows the images at full size) and then format the text to the right?

   Or should I just use the template builder to do it? If so, how do I get the same slider that is used in the portfolio section.

   Another related question. How do I get the mouse-overs to work on the images? And can I get the images to open in the lightbox?

   1) Yes this is possible - duplicate single-portfolio.php and rename the new file to i.e. template-casestudy.php. Then open up template-casestudy.php and insert following code after the first occurence of <?php:

   /*
   	Template Name: Case Study
   	*/

   Probably you'll need to make some other adjustments too (eg duplicate and edit the loop file) but I can only give you a starting point.

   2) The mouse hover and lightbox effect should work out of the box. (i.e. demo page: http://www.kriesi.at/themes/coherence/portfolio-item/happy-holidays/ ). Can you post a link to your website where the effect doesn't work?

   Actually if you look at the example, the lightbox doesn't work in the javascript view of the portfolio items either. It only works for the regular page items. Look here to see what I mean:
   http://www.kriesi.at/themes/coherence/template-files/portfolio-4-columns/

   If you click on any of the items in the javascript view, it launches the image in a new window. Is there a way to change that so even in the javascript view it opens it in a lightbox?

   One more question, on my about page, how do I change the color of the active tab?

   I looked in the shortcode.css file, but that didn't change the colors. The color is set to #e6e6e6, and there isn't enough contrast with the white of the rest of the page. I don't see the settings in the theme options either.

   Hi dabomb,

   Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:
   

   .js_active #top .active_tab, .tab_content.active_tab_content {
   background-color: #333;
   }

   For the portfolio items, you can set what happens when you click on the slideshow image for each item in your featured media. Just expand the image options so that you can see "Apply Link to image?" and its dropdown menu.
