I have a 2 part question. the first one is most important.
1: ** I made a regular page with no sidebar. I clicked on add gallery. I selected my images. I added the gallery to page. the page shows the thumbnails but when you click on them, they do not open in lightbox, it just takes you to the image file. I noticed that the code added [gallery columns=”9″ ids=”351,352,353, and so on. but in your gallery sample page, it shows a different code. How do I add a gallery and make it use the lightbox? Your tutorial documents said your system uses the standard wordpress gallery system but how do you add a gallery and make it use lightbox. not a portfolio. I want a plain gallery that opens the images in lightbox. the documents doesn’t seem to go into that enough.
2: The max amount of thumbnails per row is 9 as per wordpress but that doesn’t fill a page width. especially if there is no sidebar. isn’t there a way to make the thumbnails use all the available width of a row?
Please read the gallery shortcode codex entry: http://codex.wordpress.org/Gallery_Shortcode
1) You need to add the link=”file” parameter to the shortcode – it looks like:
[gallery columns="9" ids="351,352,353 link="file"]
2) You can change the thumbnail size with the size parameter:
[gallery columns="9" ids="351,352,353 link="file" size="medium"]
