Custom Built Templates Not Showing Up as a Template Option

Hi,

I'm trying to assign a custom template, created via the Template Builder, to the homepage, however the template options do not appear in the drop down under "Template" in any of the pages. The only options are "Default Template" and "Archives".

Please help!

Hello,

Edit you page and look for the "Layout" box, find Overwrite default Post Layout and choose Dynamic Template. A new box will appear containing the templates that you made using the template builder.

Another question regarding this... I had assumed that by creating a custom template it would create a new template widget for a custom side bar, and it did not do this. Is there an easy way to do this that I'm overlooking? Thanks very much!

Hi,

If you want a unique sidebar widget area, you need to go to Theme Options > Sidebar. Assign a new widget area for a specific page then go to Appearance > Widgets and supply the widgets. :)
