   How can I add a custom right sidebar on portfolio_entires?

   Hi Tee,

   As far as I know there isn't a built in way to add a portfolio item only sidebar. You can add a sidebar for your portfolio overview pages, but not for the specific item pages (that show all the images for a specific portfolio set of images).

   To add a sidebar to the portfolio page, go to Sidebars in the theme options and select the portfolio page from the dropdown and then hit Save all changes.

   Is it possible to add a general sidebar for all portfolio entries.
   I have a general sidebar for all pages. But I can't seem to add it to all the portfolio items. With a right sidebar, it would make the text a lot easier to read if it was positioned under the feat. image.

   I know that there is no standard way. I hoped you could explain in which file I can add some code to make it happen as a workaround.

   Hi Tee,

   You could set the sidebar option to be display a right sidebar by default and then use a plugin like http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widget-logic/ to have the Sidebar widget area for Pages Right use that plugins logic to only display certain widgets on specific pages.

   I've not used the plugin myself but for those that absolutely need to customize their sidebars for specific areas it seems to have done the trick.

   @webbietl - It looks like you are using Coherence which does not have the option to display a sidebar on portfolio item pages.

   Thanks for the Info.

   I try to avoid extra plugins. Can you tell me in which file I can find the code responsible for showing or not showing a right sidebar for the portfolio?

   That would be template-portfolio.php in your theme files.
