    Hi –

    I’d like to display recent entries on the homepage for the Sentence theme BUT I’d like to display a custom slideshow with images that link to specific pages. I don’t want the slideshow driven by the most recent post.

    Difficult too achieve? Has someone done this before?

    Help, please.

    Thanks!

    Brad

    You can try a workaround – just create a sticky post (which will be displayed as the first post on your blog page) and add your images to it. If you want to hide the title/date, etc. open up wp-contentthemessentenceincludesformat-standard.php and replace:

    <h1 class='post-title offset-by-one '>
    <a href="<?php echo get_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark" title="<?php _e('Permanent Link:','avia_framework')?> <?php the_title(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?>
    <span class='post-format-icon minor-meta'></span>
    </a>
    </h1>

    <!--meta info-->
    <div class="one unit alpha blog-meta">

    <div class='side-container side-container-date'>

    <div class='side-container-inner'>

    <span class='date-day'><?php the_time('d') ?></span>
    <span class='date-month'><?php the_time('M') ?></span>

    </div>

    </div>

    </div><!--end meta info-->

    with:

    <?php if(!is_sticky()) { ?>
    <h1 class='post-title offset-by-one '>
    <a href="<?php echo get_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark" title="<?php _e('Permanent Link:','avia_framework')?> <?php the_title(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?>
    <span class='post-format-icon minor-meta'></span>
    </a>
    </h1>

    <!--meta info-->
    <div class="one unit alpha blog-meta">

    <div class='side-container side-container-date'>

    <div class='side-container-inner'>

    <span class='date-day'><?php the_time('d') ?></span>
    <span class='date-month'><?php the_time('M') ?></span>

    </div>

    </div>

    </div><!--end meta info-->
    <?php } ?>
