Custom Menu and Page Attribute "Parent"

Hi,

I've one custom menu e.g. "About" and under that I have two pages "X" and "Y". So when I go to page "X", I see "You are here: Home -> X". However, I should see "Your are Here: Home -> About -> X". When I try to add parent for page "X" in Page Attributes, I don't see option "About" because "About" is not a page (it is just custom menu).

Unfortunately the breadcrumb doesn't take care of your menu structure but it will just query pages and we use the standard $post->post_parent methode to display the parent page in the breadcrumb. Afaik it's not even (easily) possible to use the menu structure for the breadcrumb because the user can use the same menu item in several menus (or he can add the same menu item multiple times to one menu) and eventually the breadcrumb would display weird results.

The only solution in your case is to create an "About" page and to assign the X/Y pages as child pages.

In Custom Menu, I can remove the URL attribute to disable the link from that Menu, but it is not possible in Page. I don't want link for my "About" menu.

Hi!

Yes but if you don't want to create an "About" page the breadcrumb wouldn't make sense anyway because the user can't "navigate back" to the parent page...
