    Hi there,

    i want to style my blog like this: http://awkbots.com/blog/

    So, this means, with the date next to the blog entry. I have the little snippet running with the Quick CSS for removing the date next to the porfolio entry.

    .single-portfolio .blog-meta{

    display:none !important;

    }

    Does this mean, this removes the date also with the blog page? Can you clarify or explain what to do?

    Thank you so much for your support

    BR Marco

    Hi,

    I’m not sure what you’re saying. I see you have the date next to your blog posts, the code you’ve put in your CSS will keep the Portfolio from having this date shown. The dates will stay on your blog.

    What would you like to do?

    Nice work by the way.

    Hi Chris,

    thanks a lot for your help, also for your comment on my website. What I mean is, that the entry page (http://www.marcobutz.de/blog/) does not show any date next to the entry. If you click on the picture “January” you will get to the next page (http://www.marcobutz.de/januar-2012/) and here you can see the date next to the post.

    What I want is to have the date next to the entry on this side http://www.marcobutz.de/blog/. Is this possible?

    Try to add following code to css/custom.css:

    .blog-meta {
    margin: 0;
    padding: 15px;
    position: absolute;
    right: -156px;
    top: -30px;
    width: 95px;
    }

    .text-sep{
    display:none;
    }

    .blog-meta{
    margin:0 ;
    position: absolute;
    width:95px;
    right: -156px;
    padding:15px;
    top:-30px;
    }

    .blog-meta .date{
    height:44px;
    text-align:center;
    display:block;
    position: relative;
    margin: 4px 0 0 5px;
    left: -15px;
    top: -15px;
    }

    .blog-meta .day {
    font-size: 36px;
    font-weight: bold;
    line-height: 1em;
    display: block;
    width: 55px;
    position: absolute;
    top: 0;
    left: 0;
    margin: 8px 0 0 0;
    }

    .blog-meta .month{
    display:block;
    font-size:18px;
    left:60px;
    line-height:1em;
    position:absolute;
    text-transform:uppercase;
    top:9px;
    width:50px;
    }
    .blog-meta .year{
    display:block;
    font-size:14px;
    font-weight:bold;
    left:60px;
    letter-spacing:2px;
    line-height:1em;
    position:absolute;
    top:27px;
    width:53px;
    }

    Hi,

    I believe adding this should solve that for you

    .blog-meta .comment-container {
    margin-top: 34px;
    margin-left: -5px;
    }

    I came across the post when trying to add the date next to my blog posts just as it shows in the portfolio. Forgive me for any stupid questions, but I have tried to read through everything above to figure it out but just got a little confused. I was curious if someone could help me add whatever I need to add and where to add it to so that I can accomplish the date next to a blog post? Thanks all.

    #61977

    Hey, no prob at all: You need to got the “theme options” at the very top in the admin page. There go to the “general settings” and you can find an open text box calls custom css or something sounds like this. Here you can drop the lines above, save and there we go :)

    Awesome. I kinda thought that was it, but I wanted to make sure before I went and jacked up my CSS and made things worse. I greatly appreciate the help. I’ll see how it goes, and if I have any trouble I might ask for more help but I think this should do it. Thanks.

    Worked PERFECTLY! Greatly appreciate the help. Now I just have to fix my logo and add it some of my own content and I am ready to go. Been putting off fixing my own site for various designs and such for years.

    Could you please help Dude?

    #61981

    ok, kicked it out :(

    Sorry for the delay, if you would still like us to have a look at it could you please restate what exactly you want to do – it’s hard to follow what’s going on.
