I just got my copy of the theme, but I would also like to set it up just like in the demo and edit my site from there.
There is no instruction in the “index.html” supplied about setting up to get the demo look & feel.
How can I get this done, please?

I’m sorry – newscast doesn’t come with a demo content installer. Only the themes “CleanCut”, Avisio and Habitat support the dummy content.October 10, 2010 at 2:19 pm #35580
If I knew that was the case, i would not have purchased it!
You need to realise that many people are not technologically savvy to get some things done easily.
Having a demo content installer makes things easy for people.
While waiting for a reply, I noticed that someone had posted something similar
and Kriesi replied with a newscast.xml file download. How can this xml file be implemented?

I’m pretty sure that you can import this file via WordPress importer. You can find it under Tools > Import. You need to install “WordPress” importer there – afterwards you can import the xml file.October 10, 2010 at 7:33 pm #35582
I tried to do that with the WordPress importer plugin and this was the result:
“Invalid file – Please upload a valid WXR (WordPress eXtended RSS) export file.”
What else can I do, please?
Perhaps, I can give you access to help me get this theme installed the way I wanted it – demo style, then I can take it up from there.

that was the thread where I found the newscast.xml i referred to earlier. As I said, I can’t get this to work, maybe it’s not importing it properly or something I don’t know.
Do you mind having a look and helping to sort this out? My email is g7submit at gmail.com
I really need this sorted urgently.

I’m not sure what I can do for you. I can only export my test server content and give it to you but it was created for Avisio not Newscast. So if you import it you’ll get a lot of trash because Avisio uses some functions and custom fields which aren’t supported by Newscast. I can ask Kriesi if he can try to export his demo server content but he’s on a (short) trip now and will return in several days.October 11, 2010 at 11:06 am #35586
This feels a bit sad for me.
But, is it possible for you to just help me create some basics, then i can start replicating those things; all I need is an example for each of the sections such as slider, menu, post?October 11, 2010 at 11:33 am #35587October 12, 2010 at 7:35 am #35588
