different template?

   HI all,

   I was wanting to create a different template to the ones that come with the current wordpress theme. How do I create a template that has a hero image at the top and the standard main columns at the bottom? I have attached a screen to show what am after (http://www.eko-create.com/content/website/idea.jpg). Any help on this would be fantastic.

   Also I think it would be great if any changes to the standard layout we could share on this site via a resource area.

   Hey,

   You can create a new page template to do this, have a look at the Codex page for more information.

   You could use an existing page template (eg blog) to help get you started. :)

   HI James,

   Thanks for the info, I will give it a go but not sure what to do? I am guessing its a easy thing to do for someone who knows how to build wordpress templates. If any one can help? All I want is to add a static html hero image to the top of the template?

   Like http://www.eko-create.com/content/website/idea.jpg
