I've tried to investigate through WooCommerce forums, but haven't been able to find anything. Is it possible to make the digital download file instantly available after the user has paid for the item? The current set up requires that the order is 'completed' before it becomes available to the user, not ideal, it should be automatically available after payment.

At the bottom of the General Tab in the WooCommere plugin is a setting called" Grant access to downloadable products after payment. Turn this option off to only grant access when an order is "complete"."
I think this might be what you are looking for but I don't know of any other options in relation to Digital Downloads if it is not.
