    Dear support,

developed a website on your Enfold theme. Works fine, now a bug or just unwanted behavior appears. In advanced layout editor – text field – I added link to PDF media file (presentation of portfolio) and want visitors to download it. Surely I add a link to media file not to parent post. In frontend the link is correct. In all cases I tried right click and “Save as…” works fine. Unfortunately left click works badly.

In Google Chrome and MS Internet Explorer the link in status bar seems to be fine but when left click it redirects me to portfolio post. In Mozilla Firefox the PDF is opened by built in pdf.js or whatsever.

Link location: http://www.adamdesign.cz/reference/ – bottom the text link “ADAM DESIGN Presentation 2013 EN”. Link itself is: http://www.adamdesign.cz/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/adam-design-presentation-2013-en.pdf

Similar behaviour here: http://www.adamdesign.cz/presentation/ – the link for PDF download redirects to page “what do we do”. You know, WTF is wrong with WP?

I tried to find out what can do that but you see the result. No redirections are present (so far as I can find out). I have tried plugins to force download and it works with given URL even in Chrome and IE. I haven’t try to add “AddType application/octet-stream .pdf” into .htaccess.

Please could you advise cleaner solution? Thank you!

    Hi jetel!

That is very weird, not sure what could be going on there. I see it happening in Chrome and IE as well but not Firefox.

    1. What happens when you link to a different PDF file?
    2. Does it do the same when you create a new page with nothing but the link inside?
    3. What happens in the default WordPress theme?

Make sure all plugins are deactivated while testing.

    Best regards,
    Elliott
