I'd like to be able to remove the ability for users to add one of the native sliders when posting. I have no problem with how the theme handles a single featured image and I'd like to keep that functionality (if changing the button labels), but I want to prevent users from being able to create a slideshow, especially because creating one seems to turn off the other slider plugin that I am using. If I can remove all of this and use wordpress' native featured images instead, that will work as well.
