    Want to get the author box in single posts to display in pages as well. Since author is doing a great job on helping the seo for site

    Hi Artifactual,

    I don’t recommend putting author info on pages as it will appear to pages, you don’t want them to appear like in the contact page. If you still want to continue, atleast you know how it affects your site if you add it:

    Kindly go to wp-content/themes/shoutbox/includes/loop-page.php and find this code block (line 26-28):

    <h1 class='post-title'>
    <?php the_title(); ?>
    </h1>

    Below it, paste this code:

    <!--meta info-->
    <div class="blog-meta">

    <span class='post-date-comment-container'>
    <span class='date-container'><strong><?php the_time('d') ?> <?php the_time('M') ?></strong> <span><?php the_time('Y') ?></span></span>
    <span class='separator'>&sdot;</span>
    <?php

    echo '<span class="blog-author minor-meta">';
    echo '<strong>'.__('by','avia_framework').' </strong><span>';
    the_author_posts_link();
    echo '</span> <span class="separator">&sdot;</span> </span> ';

    $cats = get_the_category();

    echo '<span class="minor-meta-wrap">';
    if(!empty($cats))
    {
    echo '<span class="blog-categories minor-meta">';
    echo '<strong>'.__('in','avia_framework').' </strong><span>';
    the_category(', ');
    echo '</span> <span class="separator">&sdot;</span> </span> ';
    }
    ?>
    <span class='comment-container'><?php comments_popup_link("<strong>0</strong> ".__('Comments','avia_framework'), "<strong>1</strong> ".__('Comment' ,'avia_framework'),
    "<strong>%</strong> ".__('Comments','avia_framework'),'comments-link',
    "<strong></strong> ".__('Comments<br/>Off','avia_framework')
    ); ?>
    </span>
    <?php

    if(has_tag())
    {
    echo '<span class="blog-tags minor-meta"> <span class="separator">&sdot;</span> ';
    echo the_tags('<strong>'.__('Tags: ','avia_framework').'</strong><span>');
    echo '</span></span> ';
    }

    echo '</span>';
    ?>

    </span>
    </div><!--end meta info-->

    After adding this customization and take a look at each page of your site, if you don’t like the customization, just undo the steps.

    Hi Ismael

    I have a question why doesn’t pages show up the author details on Google search results, single posts seems to be doing quite a good (displays authour data in search resusts). Basically what i want to achieve is get the page author linked to each page. Or is there a wp plugin i can get it done ? im fine with placing short code on each page if that’s what it takes to get it done

    Hi Artifactual,

    I’m not sure how to achieve what you want, and I’m not sure what plugin is right for your need but you can try to search it on the web. Let me tag the rest of the support as they might have an idea on how to do that.

    Hi,

    You can make any ‘page’ show up in Google search results with a little author-box next to the link as long as it satisfies the rules laid out by Google.

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/authorsure/

    WordPress was originally created to be a blog, thus there are posts and pages. There was no reason for authors to be associated with pages, because pages served a purpose of housing the type of content that nobody really cares about who the author is. Think of About Company, Privacy Policy, Contact Page, Terms of Service, Shopping Cart Checkout, Thank you for shopping, Category and Tag Archive pages… Nobody ever asked if Stephen King wrote the privacy policy…

    If you read Google rules, http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1408986 it says what is needed: 1 link. Which is easy enough to insert anywhere; or a meta tag, which is just as easy to insert. Read the post, they suggest a whole lot of ways to do this.

    Thanks,

    Nick
