Dynamic templates

   Hello again,

   How can I apply a dynamic template to some pages that I can't access via the WP dashboard, i.e error 404 page, Forum page?
   It also seems that I can't apply a dynamic template to the following pages; Sitemap, Timeline.

   When applied to any post page, it removes all the blog features, see example here: http://www.rn3dlab.com/blog/kriesi-at/
   The only way I have to keep the blog features is to use the "default post layout", see here : http://www.rn3dlab.com/blog/this-is-a-test/

   Basically what I want is to have all the "Heading & Breadcrumbs" areas styled the same way throughout the website, i.e styling based on my "alternate content" and not on my "big slideshow area".

   Hi zaaala81,

   The dynamic templates take priority whenever they are set so whatever is on the page will not be shown unless that template says it should. This also goes for the page template chosen in Page Attributes.

   For the 404 page, you will need to edit the 404.php file in your theme files.

   The Forum page is handled by the plugin and I'm not sure how you could modify it besides simply adding to the sidebar widgets or potentially adjusting that specific pages css.

   Which styling are you trying to achieve and on which specific pages. It can most likely be done with css we'll just need to be clear and exact on what changes are needed so we don't point you in the wrong direction or give out the incorrect or non specific css.

   Hello Devin,

   I would like all the "Heading & Breadcrumbs" areas throughout the website to be styled the same way, based on the styling below:

   Background color #f8f8f8
   Heading color #262628
   Breadcrumbs color #666666
   Hover color #00acc7
   Border color #e1e1e1
   Shadow YES

   "Heading & Breadcrumbs" areas to look like that: http://www.rn3dlab.com/blog/projects/
   and not like that: http://www.rn3dlab.com/blog/kriesi-at/

   I don't know how to apply this style to the "Heading & Breadcrumbs" areas of the following pages / posts : error 404, Sitemap, Timeline, all the forum pages, each post entry (without removing the blog features).

   Hope it makes sense, let me know if you need more details.

   }
   
   .slideshow_color .breadcrumb, .slideshow_color .breadcrumb a {
       color: #666666 !important;
   }
   
   .slideshow_color .breadcrumb a:hover {
       color: #00acc7 !important;
   }
   
   .main_color {
       border-color: #E1E1E1 !important;
   }

   Hello Mya,

   I've tried and it worked but it also removed the styling I set up for my slideshow area, including the background image.

   The theme seems to choose by default for the "heading & breadcrumbs" the color scheme of the "big slideshow area".

   This is something that I can easily change by creating a new template in the builder and choose the color scheme of my "alternate content" for the "headings & breadcrumbs".

   Unfortunately there are some pages where I can't apply a dynamic template, i.e 404 page, timeline, forum, etc.

   It occurs I've got two different stylings for the "heading & breadcrumbs" areas, one based on the "big slideshow" color scheme, the other based on the "alternate content" color scheme.

   Is there a way to force the theme to use by default the styling "alternate content" rather the "big slideshow area" for all the "heading & breadcrumbs" areas ?

   Hi zaaala81,

   I'm very unclear on exactly what you are having issues with and what you want your final site to look like. So you want the breadcrumb area of this page, on every single page except the homepage?:

   If this IS the case, you can just style the home page slider area individually and then use the theme settings to style everything else:
   Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:
   

   #top.home .slideshow_color {
   background: #404040 url(http://www.rn3dlab.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Chalkboard.png) center center no-repeat scroll;
   }

   This is the most direct and simple route if this is what you are looking to do.

   Hi Devin,

   Yes, this is what I wanted. It worked perfectly fine for the background image. I also need to style the homepage slider with the font in white and the primary color (for hover, button, etc) in blue #00acc7.
   Can you send me the code?

    Try to add this code:
    

    .featured_caption {
       color: white;
    }
    
    #top .caption_supersize .caption-slideshow-button,
    .featured_caption:hover {
       color: #00ACC7;
    }

    or this code, if the code above doesn't work:
    

    .featured_caption {
       color: white !important;
    }
    
    #top .caption_supersize .caption-slideshow-button,
    .featured_caption:hover {
       color: #00ACC7 !important;
    }
