If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
I am creating Dynamic Templates as well as using the custom menu widget for side bars.
My issue is that each time I indicate that the sidebar IS active on the Dynamic Template it tries to place a sidebar either next to the slider, or when slider is set to ‘full width’ it pushes it under the slider… I want my custom menus to appear in the body text, but the custom menu will need to be used by different pages, so I dont want to select the page via the template ~ and if I select the template via the page it then wont allow the custom menu!
Clear as mud but I hope you understand what I mean!
Thanks in advance for any assistance…
I’m not actually clear what you mean. If you want to place a widget in the page then you need to use a sidebar. Otherwise you would have to find a plugin which allows you to place widgets within a page or something like that.
Thanks for your reply… I managed to get around this by making a dynamic template for each area requiring a different sidebar menu and using ‘columns’ (this was the important part). I then placed a widget in the right column, named it, and placed a custom menu in the widget.
If I chose to have a sidebar on the dynamic template (its the first choice when you create a dynamic template) it places the sidebar in the top section… so it appears to the side of the slider, or if the slider is full-width it places it underneath… not ideal.
Thanks again :)
