    Hello,

I have been working quite hard last month with my new web (it is a big update from two years original web created with Cleancut theme). This web should be running by now. This weekend I had a problem with my VPS and W3 Total Cache and I started to “touch” too many things.

Now everything seems to be running OK except one important thing. The dynamic templates I created are not shown in the admin page but the frontpages are shown OK. Let me try to give you more information.

Attached there is a screenshot of the admin page: you can see only the Frontpage design. But in the database the templates are complete and when I load one page with a custom template, everything is OK.

Right now the domain is pointing to the old server. If you need to connect to the server, I can send you by e-mail all the information.

I have been two days trying to recover all the web… and I cannot do any more.

I am using a child theme and I over writed the Choices theme with the original files. So maybe I deleted some info in a file.

    Table: wp_options

    Option_name: avia_options_choices_dynamic_pages

    Option_value:

    a:6:{i:1;a:6:{s:4:”slug”;s:4:”team”;s:6:”parent”;s:9:”templates”;s:4:”icon”;s:30:”layout_header_footer_3_mix.png”;s:5:”title”;s:4:”Team”;s:9:”removable”;s:20:”remove this template”;s:8:”sortable”;s:13:”avia_sortable”;}i:2;a:6:{s:4:”slug”;s:12:”landing_page”;s:6:”parent”;s:9:”templates”;s:4:”icon”;s:30:”layout_header_footer_3_mix.png”;s:5:”title”;s:12:”Landing Page”;s:9:”removable”;s:20:”remove this template”;s:8:”sortable”;s:13:”avia_sortable”;}i:4;a:6:{s:4:”slug”;s:9:”articulos”;s:6:”parent”;s:9:”templates”;s:4:”icon”;s:30:”layout_header_footer_3_mix.png”;s:5:”title”;s:9:”Articulos”;s:9:”removable”;s:20:”remove this template”;s:8:”sortable”;s:13:”avia_sortable”;}i:5;a:6:{s:4:”slug”;s:15:”perdida_de_peso”;s:6:”parent”;s:9:”templates”;s:4:”icon”;s:30:”layout_header_footer_3_mix.png”;s:5:”title”;s:15:”Perdida de peso”;s:9:”removable”;s:20:”remove this template”;s:8:”sortable”;s:13:”avia_sortable”;}i:6;a:6:{s:4:”slug”;s:13:”pagina_normal”;s:6:”parent”;s:9:”templates”;s:4:”icon”;s:30:”layout_header_footer_3_mix.png”;s:5:”title”;s:13:”Pagina normal”;s:9:”removable”;s:20:”remove this template”;s:8:”sortable”;s:13:”avia_sortable”;}i:7;a:6:{s:4:”slug”;s:8:”contacto”;s:6:”parent”;s:9:”templates”;s:4:”icon”;s:30:”layout_header_footer_3_mix.png”;s:5:”title”;s:8:”Contacto”;s:9:”removable”;s:20:”remove this template”;s:8:”sortable”;s:13:”avia_sortable”;}}

    Hi Dietista,

If you are looking to get going as soon as possible, just re-create your templates on the new server/settings and duplicate everything you had before.

I can’t say what happened before without digging into everything and a lot of back and forth but this is the quickest most direct solution available.

    Devin

OK. Tonight I will try to do it and see what’s happen. Thank you!

When I try to create a new template, I get the following error: Something went wrong, please try again in a few second.

It doesn’t matter if it is a complete new template or if I use the same name of a previous template.

    Hi Dietista,

I would think that’s a server error. Are you still experiencing that issue?

    Hello,

After working all the weekend, I replicated the web in my local machine. After this, I moved the entire web to the server and everything works perfect (including plugins) except the “Choices Template Builder”. I guess that it does not use an “absolute” path in a file and it cannot find the templates.

I am quite tired. Tomorrow I will try another thing but I do not know what.

    Hi,

Glad to see you got at least some of it fixed. I’m going to tag the rest of the support team to see if they can offer ideas to help you the rest of the way.

    Hi,

Are you on a MAMP (Macintosh) or WAMP (Windows Hosting?) Your host most likely is limiting PHP to only 32 megs of memory causing this problem. There is a good article here _> http://blog-en.mamp.info/2009/09/increase-php-memory-limit-with-mamp-pro.html When you give php 64meg, everything should begin working well. In the past, when people experienced this problem it was solved by upping the memory, contacting their webhost to increase the php memory (some discount hosts may refuse) or switching to a ‘wordpress friendly’ host.

    Thanks,

    Nick

    Hello,

In my computer I am using a WAMP enviroment with lo PHP memory of 256 MB and my server is a VPS with a 2 Gb of RAM and the php.ini

As the online server is not in production, the value “memory_limit” is set to 512 Mb. So it is not a problem with the memory.

I have moved several times the web from my local computer to the server, using different methods: Duplicator Plugin, export database and move it with the files to the server, with different backup plugins… And always the Template Builder has no templates and if i try to create a new one, i get the error “Something went wrong, please try again in a few second.”

Please ask Kriesi if maybe he is using and absolute path for some information regarding the Template Builder.

    Thank you for your support.

    Hi Dietista,

I know there have been some issues recently when moving from a local environment to a live one so I have been recommending users build completely on the live server until the issue is resolved. I’m not sure if it was in a recent framework update or what but we have let Kriesi know about it and I’m hoping for a fix asap.

So if you can, try a clean install of the theme on your server and see if you are able to create templates at that point. Then we might be able to narrow down what is happening as having something to do with the push from local settings to live.

    Regards,

    Devin

    Hi,

The way I would QA this is: (I tried to replicate your error but was unable to)

    1) Clean worpress install with latest theme version. Do not add anything except a single dynamic template calling it TEST1. Do not add the template to any page.

    2) Migrate the site to live. Now as I understand the error, you will not be able to see TEST1even though its still in the database. Create a new template on live site calling it TEST2 with identical settings to TEST1. So now you would be able to see TEST2 but not TEST1.

    3) Look in the mySQL to determine the difference between TEST1 and TEST2 to isolate what differentiates them in various tables.

[Edit] Would you also paste the exact error you are getting, because what you wrote in quotes has only 1 result on Google, this page. But there are a number of variations in the wording of the error when searched without quotes.

    Thanks,

    Nick

    Hello Nick,

thank your for your help and the rest of the team. The problem was in the server configuration. After hours and days trying to solve the error, I tried in another server and it worked.

Now the web is live and working quite well.

    Glad to hear it :)
