    Hi,

I’ve updated my Enfold theme to the very latest version, but there is still an issue with the easy slider as seen on this page http://etool.net.au/portfolio/octo/

Text reads – Warning: trim() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /clientdata/apache-www/e/t/etool.net.au/www/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/slideshow.php on line 443

Is this connected to WordPress 3.6 or is it something else? I updated the theme via FTP with just new files overriding.

    Many thanks, Siobhan

    Hi siobhan13,

Try first disabling all active plugins you have running including any dropins like Jetpack.

Next, re-install the newest theme files in the same way you did before via FTP except do it folder by folder instead of all at once.

Last, try opening up that easy slider in your editor and then re-saving it. If you are still having issues try making a new one on a test page and if you don’t have the issue there delete the one from the same above and re-make it entirely.

    Regards,

    Devin

    Hi Devin,

Thanks a lot for your advice.

I followed your instructions and it seemed to work – I didn’t need to create new sliders, just resave the current ones. I think a couple of the files didn’t make it through the FTP which caused the issue.

Since fixing this however I have had some issues when refreshing the site. For me, everything turns to simple text and gets pushed to the left hand side with the navigation sitting underneath each other all the way down the page – on Google Chrome. For others, images layer on top of one another and links turn blue and buttons appear. I haven’t been able to recreate the second one but it this has only happened on IE.

It has happened this morning and a number of times yesterday, particularly on the portfolio pages – http://etool.net.au/projects/ http://etool.net.au/portfolio/octo/ but I can’t seem to recreate it now to take a screenshot.

Any ideas why this is happening? Nothing similar happened before this theme update and wordpress update.

    Many thanks, Siobhan

A couple of guesses: you have *a lot* of active plugins which doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll have issues but that is a lot of different code all running at once. If you can cut down on some that may help.

Try tweaking your WP Super Cache settings. While I’m not familiar with WPSC directly, I know when you start getting into performance plugins there is a lot of overlap and that overlap can cause issues. So if you have anything else doing minification or caching turn the others off.

    Hi Devin,

Thanks I think your ‘guesses’ are spot on.

I got rid of some plugins yesterday and some more today and haven’t come across the issue since.

Will look into tweaking the WP Super Cache as well so it doesn’t happen again.

    Thanks, Siobhan
