you can check your pages which template they're using, however the author pages use your one template, if you change it it will change every author page - you can't do them individually. Avatars are pulled from their user accounts which is something you can't do much about.
$author_email = get_the_author_meta('email');
echo get_avatar( $author_email, $size = '48');This way ^
