If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
I am having a bit of an issue getting everything just right.
On my homepage, I want there to be the blog and in the sidebar, static text.
On other category pages, I want there to be a blog and custom specified widgets in the sidebar.
I can get the effect on the homepage, by including blog content in the dynamic template for the homepage, and adding the text to the widget area for “blog”. However then the sidebar is identical for all pages with blog content.
On my homepage, I have a dynamic template set to show the portfolio, and then below it, the contents of page “frontblog”.
“Frontblog” has its own dynamic template to have blog content, and a custom sidebar.
However, this setup shows no content below the portfolio.
Am I going about this the wrong way? Or is it impossible to nest dynamic templates?
