the .au gets chopped off the email but the code i put in was... i was going to put a sample in but the forum keeps making it a link

it seems like you're using a Mailguard plugin (I searched the theme files and couldn't find the Mailguard function so I assume it's a plugin. It inserts following code in the head area:
function MailGuard(mailbox,domain){
str="<a href='mailto:"+mailbox+"@"+domain+"'>"+mailbox+"@"+domain+"</a>";
document.write(str);
}Try to deactivate it - this should solve the problem.
