Hi,

I want to embed a movie (.wmv) in a page or post. Is this possible?
I've uploaded the wmv-file in my media-uploads, so I can create a link to it, but as said... I want to embed it into a page or post.

Any suggestions? Usefull plugins? Html-code,...?

Ps: I also tried to do it with youtube (plugin: "Advanced YouTube Embed Plugin - Embed Plus"), but thats not such a "clean" solution (youtube => advertisements, similar movies at the end which are proposed,...)

Hi Vanwero,

I think you should convert the file, .wmv is not recommended on the web. But if you want to still use it, you can check this site: http://www.ehow.com/how_8256006_import-wmv-files-wordpress.html

thanks a lot...

Which video-extension works best in both? (Windows & Mac, iPad, iPhone,...)
Do you know that?

- wmv seems to work in windows (as it is a Windows Media File)
- MP4 seems to work on mac, iPad, iPhone (but not online on Windows pc's)

Hi Vanwero,

I think only flash is the only thing that is compatible to both. I think uploading it to youtube or vimeo and paste the embed code in your site, is a better solution to it.
