    I was following this post:
    https://kriesi.at/support/topic/advanced-layerslider-5-6-2-lost-styles-in-enfold-3-4-7-and-cannot-save-styles/

I, too, was experiencing the same issue:
    – Edit a slider (adjust font sizes, colors, background, padding, etc., using the style control fields (not custom CSS))
    – Click save and exit that slider
    – Return to that slider and the styling specifications I set up are not saved

I just, today, updated Enfold to most current and it appears the Layer Slider is also most-current: (5.6.3).

Today I am still experiencing the missing styles after saving. I did notice, however, that this seems to happen on some sliders and not on others. When I have a specific TypeKit font specified “futura-pt” (with quotation marks) in the Font Family field and then save, then all of the styling and transition specifications for that layer get lost upon save and revert to default settings. If I specify a Google Font or other simple web-safe font, then the styles for the layer remain intact after saving.

So, I guess my question is: is there a way to use TypeKit fonts in the LayerSlider that also allows the styling to be saved? Or – do I need to call the font-family in a different way?

    Hi!

So, I guess my question is: is there a way to use TypeKit fonts in the LayerSlider that also allows the styling to be saved? Or – do I need to call the font-family in a different way?

Set the font family of the layer in the Quick CSS field.

    – Return to that slider and the styling specifications I set up are not saved

Is this happening on a specific slider or layer? We modified one of the layers, add a simple test, change the color, saved and it worked. http://mspace.smittysites.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=layerslider&action=edit&id=10

    Best regards,

Got it. Yes, adding the font-family CSS in the bottom Custom CSS area of the slide editor area works – AND – those details seem to save and remain intact after leaving the slider editor and returning later. This will get me by for the moment. Thanks for confirming.

The issue I was experiencing and continue to experience is was when inserting “Futura-pt” or just Futura-pt (Typekit font) into the upper Font Family form field (whether I’m using quotation marks or not) after saving, leaving and returning all of the styling for that slide is eliminated – the font is no longer displaying in the Font Family field and other styling is also missing. It seems that if I just specify the generic futura family that font does save and sticks when returning – but when using “Futura-pt” or Futura-pt it seems to break the editor.

The editor seems to accept Google fonts just fine up in that upper Font Family form field, so maybe there’s a fix for this somehow to allow Typekit fonts to stick as well? I will just avoid using that top area for that specific Typekit font and will use the lower Custom CSS area instead. I realize this is not your doing and perhaps these comments should be directed to the plugin developers. But just worth noting.

Thanks again for looking into this.

    Hey!

Adding the Futura-pt in the layer’s Styles > Font > Family field is not breaking anything on our installations. How did you load the font? Using the Custom CSS or the Quick CSS field is the same as defining the value in the Font > Family field. Please use that for now.

    Cheers!

I continue to experience the same as noted above. If I enter “Futura-pt” or Futura-pt in the font family field in the controls section, then save and leave that slider, when I return the font family and any other styling done on that layer haven’t been saved. It doesn’t break anything, but just doesn’t save. This is particularly painful if you use this font across multiple layers in multiple slides and then need to edit them later.

But, as noted above, if that Typekit font family is added via CSS in the Custom CSS area, that CSS DOES save. I am sticking with the Custom CSS area for now and it is doing the trick. Thanks!
