After updating my site to Enfold 4.0.5 I got the following error, though the update seems to have gone through.

    All updates have been completed.

also got this debug error on the top of the page listed below:
Warning: Illegal string offset ‘label’ in /home/march4sci/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/contact.php on line 415

I have now commented out the debug code in my child theme functions.php file, as the error was showing on the live site.

Have not seen these issues before. Can you take a look?
    thanks
    Nancy

    Mine too.

I’m having the same issue. To add on to that: the LayerSlider WP is still visible in the left column menu. Clicking on the link still takes me correctly to the LayerSlide main page, which tells me “You have version 6.2.2. The latest version is 6.3.0.”. WordPress tells me there is a plugin to update, but subsequently no plugin 9to update) is listed in the plugins overview. The LayerSlider WP plugin is not listed in the plugins overview, but I assume this is correct as it came installed with the Enfold theme and afaik that means it doesn’t appear in the plugin list.

It would seem the error is related to a link to the plugin:
Warning: fopen(/home/[domain]/public_html/wp-content/plugins/home/[domain]/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/[domain]/public_ht…
Clearly there’s a wrong reference in the fopen() statement, which seems to contain two paths.

I’d like to know whether there is a fix for this, without having to (temporarily) tweak any code?

Hi Victoria, I receive the following.

Warning: fopen(/home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-content/plugins/home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4783

Warning: fclose() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4789

    #776665

I have exact same warning messages. My site is running PHP version 5.6.30. Does it mean PHP must be updated to version 7.x?

    #777275

    Hi all,

NO, it does not mean that, but php7 is much faster and it’s a good time to consider updating. The errors are most likely are there due to another Layer Slider update. We are working on adding the new Layer Slider 6.3.0 in next Enfold update. If these do not break your website, please bare with us :)

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,
    Victoria

Also having this issue. We are using Layer Slider so can’t deactivate it, and are running PHP 7.0 already.

    Hi janetgot,

Please open a new thread and include admin login details in private so that we can have a closer look.

My site is running PHP 7 and I am seeing these same issues.

    #778004

    Hi,

There might be some corrupted files, so please delete all theme files completely via FTP, before installing a fresh copy from your themeforest account. Here is a short tutorial on how to install the theme via FTP, in case you are not sure how that works:

    Best regards,
    Andy

    #783599

Is there any fix to this issue? I have deleted and uploaded the new files. Still have the error coming up on updates page and everytime I update a plugin.

    #783627

Lots of people jumping on this thread. I see in the comments you advise to update to php7 and then say you don’t have to. Is the PHP updated by the hosting service? The error doesn’t seem to be affecting my site, so I just commented out the debug.

    thanks
    Nancy

    #784092

It is only affecting some of my web sites. It’s on the update page.

    #784947

    Hi Nancy,

Yes, the php update is done by the hosting provider and yes, updating php is highly recommended.

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,
    Victoria

    #784949

    Hi SAdesignsUnltd,

Again, if this error is not breaking anything, please be patient, the Layer Slider is coming with the new version of Enfold. If you do not wish to see these warnings, you can deactivate debug as some other users do.

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,
    Victoria

    #784977

Hi Andy, I have done that already, and it still seems to be an issue. Do you think it has to do with wprocket caching something?

    #785544

    Hi,

Caching plugins can create problems sometimes, could you try clearing the cache from it and leave it deactivated to see if that helps please?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

What shuld I do now when the Child-Theme don’t work.

    #797896

Update to the latest enfold. 4.0.7 and it should fix the issue. it did for me.

    #798078

    Hi @meagussi,

Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.0.7) to see if that helps please? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #799279

    Hi Rikard!
I have updated Enfold with version (4.0.7) The path error is gone, But my Enfold-Child theme with all CSS scripting files does not work properly.
Look at the webpage, all fonts and sizes do not match. Prices come across the texts.

    #799388

    Hi @meagussi,

Thanks for the feedback, though your site looks fine on my end. Could you try clearing your browser cache and reload few times to see if that helps? Also try checking the site in a different browser. If that doesn’t help then please post a screenshot highlighting the issues and in what browser you are seeing them.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
