If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
Hosted on HostGator in U.S. No other plugins used. Site has been up for 3 weeks. Someone posted a comment at 2 today and when I went to dashboard to approve it at 3, the entire site was gone. Blank. HostGator said that the it was not hacked and they have no idea what happened. All the files are gone off the server. Do you have any idea what happened? I am terrified of putting it up again. I have lost my entire site.
Hostgator reloaded the database and it was fine last night. Today all the links to pages, categories and posts are broken.
Can I put categories in menu 1 and 2 so that the posts go there? Otherwise the copy on the pages goes into the menu on the blog page.
If I use pages, then they have to be blank.
Also the images will not load. I had to change all the names of the images. Reload and resave every page.
it seems to be a database problem. I don’t know why this happened and I’m really sorry for you. You can use pages, categories and external links in your menu by using the menu manager under Appearance > Menu. Create two menus (call them “First” and “Second”) and fill them with as many menu items as you like.
