Error trying to remove footer info

I have tried to remove the footer info after copyright and the site is messed up. Please look at this and tell me what is wrong.

$kriesi_at_backlink = '';

Hi!

Try to add following code to functions.php (insert it at the very bottom):
```
add_filter('kriesi_backlink', 'avia_backlink');
function avia_backlink() {
    return '';
}
```
