    Hi there. Do you have any idea why my portfolio images are blurred?

    I’ve created them in Photoshop at 1050×682 using the portfolio layout option of ‘Text below full size image’ (I have also experimented at 990×643 and 1000×650). I had taken a screengrab of the fullsize image it gave me and matched that, which is how I arrived at 1050×682.

    Whether I have them in a slider or as stacked images they are still anti-aliased and only appear sharp when I click on them to view within the lightbox? But I don’t want the lightbox effect, I want them to be crisp straight on the page when a user clicks the link though from the menu.

    I have downloaded a plugin that changes the WordPress image settings as you’d recommended on a previous thread “Settings > Media > Image Quality > 100″ but it hasn’t made any difference?

    Here is the page I am talking about – http://www.blu72.com/portfolio-item/nottingham-panthers-information-booklet/ – as you can see the text is blurred, but if you click the image to open in Lightbox, it sharpens up even though it’s the same size.

    Any ideas? If I can’t remedy this then the Theme is no good to me as it needs to show off my portfolio as good as possible.

    I’m not a developer by the way, so please respond in as ‘none-teccy’ a way as possible so then I’ll hopefully be able to get my head around it.

    I have also created a slideshow on a temporary blog post and although the smaller thumbnail is blurred, the full sized images are perfectly crisp, so that’s confusing me even more – http://www.blu72.com/2013/08/12/welcome-to-our-new-site-its-strictly-work-in-progress/

    Cheers.

    Oh sh*t. I’ve managed to mess up the site so those links won’t work at the moment. I went to “Settings > General > WordPress Address (URL)’ and where is said ‘blu72.com’ I changed it to the full blog detail post I’d created as opposed to the blog overview page and it’s totally thrown the whole site out.

    Do you have any idea how I can revert back to how it was before?

    Cheers.

    The site is back up now. I have re-uploaded the files and tried the site as fixed layout, but the images are still blurred? http://www.blu72.com/portfolio-item/nottingham-panthers/ this is the page and as you can see they are blurred on the page, but fine when you click on them to open in Lightbox.

    I really need to get round this or I’ll need to use another them.

    The thing that makes it confusing is that for a blog post, it’s the other way round, on this page http://www.blu72.com/blog/ the smaller thumbnail image is blurred, but the full size ones within the full width slider are perfect??

    Any help will be very much appreciated

    Hi,

    Edit functions.php, find this code:

    $avia_config['imgSize']['fullsize'] = array('width'=>990, 'height'=>990, 'crop'=>false); // big images for lightbox and portfolio single entries

    Change the width to 1050. Regenerate thumbnails using this plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    Regards,

    Ismael

    OK, I’ll give that a try, many thanks for getting back to me.

    Just one more query then on this, could you direct me where to go to turn the Lightbox effect off on the Portfolio section?

    Hi,

    Edit helper-slideshow.php, find this code on line 323:

    //apply links to the image if thats what the user wanted
    if(empty($this->link_overwrite))
    {
    if(!empty($slide['slideshow_video'])) $slide['slideshow_link'] = "";
    $image = avia_get_link($slide, 'slideshow_', $image_string, $this->post_id);
    }

    Replace it with

    //apply links to the image if thats what the user wanted
    if(empty($this->link_overwrite))
    {
    if(!empty($slide['slideshow_video'])) $slide['slideshow_link'] = "";
    $image = avia_get_link($slide, 'slideshow_', $image_string, $this->post_id, $attr = "class='noLightbox'" );
    }

    Regards,

    Ismael
