Excerpt for pages not present!

   I don't see a place to enter the excerpt in pages...
   In the Screen Options I only see:

   Post Thumbnail Options
   Featured Image
   Page Attributes
   Custom Fields
   Discussion
   Comments
   Slug
   Author
   Revisions

   I see them for posts but not for pages!

   Hey,

   Pages don't have excerpts, they're not designed to be included in a list of posts or only to display partial content. They're designed to be static and display only the full text when you browse to that page.

   Makes sense, then why do they have a featured image? Isn't feratures image the one that shows up witht he excerpt? Or am I mistaken?

   Hey,
   featured images can be part of the excerpt styling but it's not obligatory. I.e. you can use page featured images as "headline images", etc.

   Hey Dude,
   Give me an example of how to use the feature images for pages.
   Like I would like to provide a link and an image for each featured page on the sidebar. Would the featured images come handy here?

   No not really - the featured image would be displayed on the page only. You can create custom page queries with featured images though if you've php/wp programming skills.

   this plugin will enable you to add excerpts to pages, something that is very useful for search to not pull content.
