Extending the menu to the top or changing opacity value of the "box" at the top

Hello there!

I was wondering if there was a way to extend the menu to the top without having that semi-opaque box at the top? I realize it's a design element of the theme and it looks fantastic on lighter background images, but I'm not digging how it looks on dark background images, for example http://www.starsandletters.com (it just read as kind of grey). Alternately, I would also love to see what the box looks like if it were more opaque, thus making it read darker. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey,
you can change the background of this semi-transparent box by using following code (add it to css/custom.css or the quick css field):
```
.sidebar {
    background: #333;
}
```
