Our Site http://thestantonmagazine.com has category widgets set up for individual pages.

Our widgets work fine on 2 of the category pages but not on the rest.

We cannot get any widgets to display in the other category sidebars.

I have deleted the Menu’s, tested and retested and have no idea why other category pages would not be rendering the sidebar.

    Please assist.

    Thanks

The site is now live and we are using the display everywhere left widget section but we would like to get the category side bar issue resolved. So that we can post different sidebars for different category pages.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hey,

WordPress stores the data for specific widgets as an array and assigns each widgetised area a number rather than a name. If you change / move / delete a widgetised area it tends to break the system and the only fix is to remove them all and start over.

One alternative is to use the Widget Logic plugin which lets you specify exactly where widgets should appear. This plugin adds an additional field to every widget where you enter the query (ie where it will show up)

For example, to only show a widget in the “Life” category, you would enter:

    is_category('life')

where “life” is the category slug.
