    I have the same issue as a previous poster but w/ a different theme so i wanted to make sure I edit the proper file and also ensure the “no slider” category does not show up on the bottom of the post pages nor anywhere else.

    http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/thumbnails-for-posts-without-a-giant-slideshow-image

    To Summarize:

    I want a thumbnail image to show as featured image, but do not want it in the slider at the top of the page.

    Any Suggestions?

    Hi iliveonhere,

    Go to the Flagship theme settings then Layout & Settings. Look for the option at the bottom for “Slideshow behavior on overview pages”. You’ll want to select the option from the dropdown for “Display only single image on overview pages and all slideshow images except the first one on single entries”.

    This will make it so that the first image you have in your featured images will be used for the item thumbnail but it will not be included into the items slideshow on single page view.

    I have made the changes as specified, however this did not solve the issue.

    If you look at my sample post here http://www.texaseo.com/how-auditing-your-websites-seo-can-increase-your-rankings

    You will notice that there is a huge image at the top, and I would like to remove that huge image.

    I would also like to remove the huge image on the blog page as seen here: http://www.texaseo.com/blog/ See screenshot here for clarification http://screencast.com/t/3MXkKyuf4mi2

    Please advise.

    Thank You,

    kakoo. Any input?

    I see what you mean now. You don’t want any automatically generated featured image. In that case, you’ll need to use a bit of css to remove the containers from those pages.

    Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

    #top.single-post #slideshow_big {
    display: none;
    }
    #top.page-id-31 .slideshow_container {
    display: none;
    }

    In the above, the page ID for that page is used since it doesn’t have a generic page type.

    Just to note, self bumping a post sends it to the back of our Queue as we see posts by the longest posted item for the topic first.

    Regards,

    Devin
