I’ve inserted our youtube video. Based on the “home” page featured media, the auto rotation for images is set to every five seconds. The problem is after the auto rotation is started, and then the video is played it does not freeze on the playing video. Is there any way to fix this.
Similar but different.
I have temporarily set the video in the blog post and then linked to homepage. Let mw know if there is something we can do to fix the embed.September 14, 2012 at 5:39 pm #91009
I tested this on my machine and when I played the video the slider is not autorotating.
What about a different setup where the video will open on a lightbox. Edit you Featured Media, then look for Apply link to the image? choose Link Manually then supply the video URL.

I’m still having issues with our embedded video for the homepage.
1. I cannot insert the video into the iframe player as the autoroation does not stop when the video is played.
2. I cannot insert the video into the lightbox as it states the “image cannot be loaded”
3. The embeded video “…new species discovered” in the blog does not display on mobile phones
4. The embeded video “…new species discovered” in the blog cannot be opened full screen
Any ideas?September 20, 2012 at 10:11 pm #91011
For #1, there is nothing we can do to detect if a video is playing so the slideshow would not be able to change based on the video playing or not.
#2 – Make sure you are using an image for the Featured image, then use the youtube link for the link value. I don’t believe you will need to even select it as open in light box. Also make sure the link is only http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNqHm1WHiZU with nothing after it.
The theme is using wordpress’s embed function and youtube for the actual video output. If it isn’t playing on a mobile phone there isn’t much we would be able to do about that.
I didn’t have any issues opening that video fullscreen and I there isn’t anything that the theme could be doing as far as I know that could modify that.

Thanks for helping clarify the embed function. Here was what I’ve found through my trial and error… now it’s working properly (almost)
->Old youtube embed code that prevented mobile viewing
->Good youtube Code but prevented lightbox
->Did not open lightbox.
->Best one.. works for everything. (but shows related videos when finished)
The autorotation still does not freeze when the video is played…ONLY when the embed code for “Show suggested videos when the video finishes” is disabled.
We would like to not have other videos show up after ours finishes… is there something that could allow us to do this?
Button: (new species discovered…)
