FlashLight + WPML: Widgets in translated pages

Hello,

I'm building a multilingual site with FlashLight template and WPML.

In the primary language, I have set up several sidebars in pages. Then, I have translated these pages.

I suppose that the widgets in these pages, were also applied to the translated pages, but no, this is not the case.

So I have changed language in WP admin area (select at the top), and in theme control panel, I have started to add widgets for translated pages.

What a disaster! All my widgets are gone, and I have to start again, in primary language, to add pages again.

So.... there must be an easy solution to this.

Is possible to have the same widgets in the translated pages? The same widgets as the original language page.

Hope it is possible, I really need widgets in translated pages, without this functionality I'm sorry to confirm that this template is not fully WPML compatible.

Also I can see...

Translated Portfolio items don't appear in translated pages. Oh my.... I hope this is only due to the fact that I'm doing something wrong.

Yes - Flashlight isn't fully WPML compatible. The portfolio items and the widget are not translateable. I'll ask Kriesi if it's possible to add the latest framework to Flashlight because Propulsion and Coherence use a newer framework which makes them fully compatible with WPML.

Also...

In translated pages, I would love to use the same gallery, well, I can't. I have to reupload again all images. At least would be nice to select already uploaded images.

Dude, can you please confirm that the new framework will be applied to FlashLight?

I talked to Kriesi and you can also "activate" the new framework WPML mode which allows you to configure all theme options for each language independently (eg logo, portfolio pages, etc.). You just need to add following code to functions.php:
```
/*
 * wpml multi site config file
 * needs to be loaded before the framework
 */

require_once( 'config-wpml/config.php' );
```
- insert this code it before following code line:
```
##################################################################
# AVIA FRAMEWORK by Kriesi
```
and then place following folder (unpack the zip file): http://inoplugs.com/wp-content/uploads/config-wpml.zip into the main theme folder (where style.css is located). Afterwards you will be able to configure all settings for each language independently. However you'll maybe loose your current Theme Option Settings. That's the drawback of the new framework WPML mode and it's one of the reasons why Kriesi doesn't release it with a theme update (otherwise we get tons of queries because the users lost their theme options panel data).

Hello Dude, thank you very much for your answer and for providing me with a solution.

I kindly ask, If I do this, If I "activate" the new framework, will I still be able to apply future upgrades of the theme?

Will I loose the images of the gallery of every post/page/portfolio item?

1) Yes - you will. However you need to make sure that the config-wpml folder and the modified functions.php still exist after the update (I'd manually update the theme by replacing the updated files only - see version.rtf which contains the changelog).

2) No you won't loose the images of every every post/page/portfolio item.

Hello Dude!!

I have just applied the new framework and voilá!! The original language theme options didn't changed!

Also when switched to translated language, all theme options have been taken from original language!!

Amazing!!! Thank you very much!!
