    Greetings,

    How do I insert some text above the Footer Logo area in the footer. I am listing some of the companies that work with my products and I want to write something like, “look who is using my product” above the logos, maybe to the left or centered, or maybe even use a horizontal ruler so that it matches the rest of the site.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    Open footer.php and search for this line:

    echo "<div class='footer-logos'><div class='container'>";

    Add your text directly after the ” like this:

    echo "<div class='logotext'>Look who is using my product</div><div class='footer-logos'><div class='container'>";

    Now go to custom.css or Quick CSS in Abundance > Theme Options > Styling and add the class name .logotext and style the text the way you want. For example:

    .logotext {
    text-align:center;
    }

    The code above would center the text.

    Hope this helps!

    Regards,

    Mya

    I modified the footer.php and the css as you instructed, but the footer logo area (and the entire footer area) disappears when use the code you provided above. If I leave the code the way it is and insert my text then it shows up above the logo footer, but way over to the left butting up against the body frame. What should I do?

    Hi,

    My apologies. I had an error in the code above. Instead of “logotext” it should be ‘logotext’. I updated the code above but I’ll put here as well.

    echo "<div class='logotext'>Look who is using my product</div><div class='footer-logos'><div class='container'>";

    Try that along with the CSS.

    Mya

    Hi Mya,

    I would like to align the logos centered and figures, that putting this to custom.css would do it. But nothing happens:

    .footer-logos {

    align:center;

    }

    I bet you can help ;-)

    Hi, again…

    The logotext-function described above thrashes the layout of the footer box a bit.

    I am using the boxed layout and the footer gets a white rim on the left an right, when inserting your code.

    I cannot send a link, because i have it running locally…

    Can you help?

    Best

    Hi Boris,

    Without seeing it live or at the very least a screenshot there isn’t much we can do.

    You can read about centering here: http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_align.asp as a quick reference .

    Hi Devin,

    Hey!

    Please use a service like: http://imageshack.us/ and post a link to the image.

    Ok.

    Here is the shot:

    with: echo “<div class=’logotext’>Dienstleistungspartner des Hebammenblog-Shop’s</div><div class=’footer-logos’><div class=’container’>”;

    and without that code:

    Hi,

    I read Devins Reference-Link. But I still don’t understand where I have to put what code in order to center the logos

    Could you please provide the snippet and tell me where to put it?

    That would be just great.

    Sorry, for any off-support-inconvenience…

    It isn’t as simple as a snippet unfortunately. From the screenshots alone I’m just not able to really give any specific code (i’m a big hands on kind of developer).

    What I would do is inspect the logos container with Chrome dev tools, get the overall width of the container that holds the logos then add that width to the class selector as a new declaration. Then you can use the margin left/right auto trick to center it. For example:

    .footer-logos {
    width: 980px;
    margin-left: auto;
    margin-right: auto;
    }

    Hi Guys,

    I decided to get rid of the text, and just use the logos, so my “white rim problem” is solved by not going there;-)

    What I’s like to do is center the logos any Mya’s code position:center is invalid css.

    Devin’s margin left/right auto trick doesn’t work (It stays left)

    When using px-values for left (e.g. 250 px) the horizontal ruler moves to the right, too.

    What can I do?

    The margin trick only works if the width is defined and the element is a block element. So make sure you’ve got a defined pixel width for whatever it is and its set as display: block and also not positioned absolutely.

    Some more references and examples: https://www.google.com/search?q=auto+margin+trick

    Hi Devin,

    sry, but I give up! I tried to fiddle around wit the code, bit I guess I just not coder enough ;-(

    What I did is:

    Edited styles css at .footer-logos and added:

    width: 980px;

    display: block;

    Also edited custom.css wit the code from above.

    Nothing changed.

    Since you know the theme, could you tell me, where exactly I have to put what?

    Do I have to edit the footer.php? Where do I find the class selector?

    That would be a big help!

    This is a pretty old topic. What is the site URL? I’ll need to see it live and inspect the css to be able to attempt a solution.

    #80221

    Hi Devin,

    it’s not online, yet. Just on my computer.

    But it is the abundance theme with a boxed layout, just like on Kriesi’s webseite. Does that help?

    This is only a guess but you can try this and manipulate the values as needed:

    .footer-logos .container {
    width: 600px;
    }
