Is it possible for me to increase the dimensions of the slideshow on the front page. If so, how?

Hey,
You can change the slideshow/image dimensions in functions.php (I'd only adjust the height value). Afterwards regenerate the thumbnails with: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/Posted 1 year ago # -
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I am still having a problem. I increased the content area size and increased the image sizes in the functions.php file but the images for the featured slideshow on the front page remain the same and half of the proceeding slide shows as well.

Is there any possible way to fix this or does the content area size have to remain at 620px in order for it to work correctly?

Did you ever figure this out? I think there is definitely a way because their own blog has the images expanded.I'm trying to figure out the same thing.

Hey,
when resizing this you first have to adjust your slider image sizes in the function.php (standard is 620x350 when you import dummy data).
Then, you'll have to narrow your sidebar and enlarge your content area, all through CSSIn your style.css adjust the width of .content and .sidebar to do that. After this you have to make sure your uploaded images are the correct size you've just set.
I hope this helps :)
