    Hi Guys, for some reason the sidebar and the content box on the frontpage is hidden in the latest version of Safari. Can somebody check that out ?

    The same problem on Kriesis demo ;)

    Thanks

    Hi Shorty05,

    It looks like Apple has no way to use Safari 6 on windows so I’m not able to test the issue. I believe Kriesi is the only mac user but I will tag the rest of the support ream just in case.

    Devin

    Hi,

    Have you updated to Flagship 1.3 ? Please check your style.css file, and if not, please update because I believe some Safari specific updates are a part of it. The demo needs an update as well, its using Flagship 1.1. Please go to Themeforest and download the update, just don’t forget it will overwrite every file in the theme, including functions.php and custom.css so you should make a backup of your current theme if you made any edits to the templates.

    Thanks,

    Nick

    @Nick i believe that Kriesi has released version 1.9 not 1.3 ;) … and yes i have updated the theme. I have replaced the entire folder and i still have the same problem.

    btw …. Kriesi forgot to edit the css file. Its still saying Version 1.8.

    Hi Shorty05,

    I think Nick is right that the latest version of Flagship is 1.3. Are you somehow, using the Flashlight theme? the latest version of flashlight theme is 1.9. You can check it here: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/latest-theme-updates-please-check-if-yourre-using-an-outdated-theme-version

    Hi,

    I moved the discussion to Flashlight Forum. Now lets start from the beginning. What version of Flashlight do you have? Please check styless .css file.

    Thanks,

    Nick

    Hi,

    In order for us to effectively help you with the sidebar, we would need to see a live site. A number of different reasons could be the cause.

    Would it be possible for you to set up a temporary development sub-domain/host and let us have a look?

    Do you see the demo website exhibit the same behavior when you use Safari? http://www.kriesi.at/themes/flashlight/

    Thanks,

    Nick

    #97040

    Yes Kriesis i see the same behavior on Kriesis demo. I checked it in my iMac and with my Mac Book same problem in Safari … All other browser are working fine ;)

    I can setup a dev. page thats no problem i just need a bit time since i am out of office at the moment.

    Can i attach a screenshot if it is hosted in my server ?

    #97041

    Hi Shorty05,

    You can use something like http://tinypic.com/ and then link to the image there. If you have a dev page showing it specifically as well that would be great.

    Hi,

    What version of iOS are you using?

    What version of Safari?

    Please add this to your Quick CSS, located in Flashlight > Styling

    .sidebar, .border-transparent, .avia_fullscreen_slider_thumbs, .avia_fullscreen_slider_thumbs img {
    background: hsl(308, 91%, 31%) url(../images/skin-minimal/bg-trans.png) repeat 0 0;
    }
    #top .bg-logo, #top .bg-logo a {
    height: 485px;
    width: 450px;
    }
    #top .bg-logo a {
    background: hsl(0, 90%, 52%) url(../images/skin-minimal/logo.png) no-repeat 0 0;
    }
    .box {
    background: hsl(238, 93%, 54%);
    z-index: 9999;
    }

    Would you please paste a screen cast of how everything looks after you inserted the above code.

    Thanks,

    Nick

    Hi Nick, no changes at all looks exactly the same as before … have cleared the cache and rebooted the browser 2 times.

    I tried to edit the z-index as well but without any luck.

    I use the latest version of both ;)

    OS X 10.8.2

    Safari 6.0.2

    usually the background color should change to blue or something like that using your css right ?

    i am familiar with development, css and stuff but i cant locate the problem using firebug or changing attributes from fixed to absolute or changing the z-index.

    its really a weird problem… i did give it a try on my friends mac using the same version just to be sure that it is not a bug of my mac but the sidbar is hidden as well.

    btw looks good on my pc using safari 5 …

    #97045

    Hi,

    Do this. Open up the page in fire bug., and find the DOM node that has the background image. delete it. delete also the parent node of the background image. delete some of the javascript or css, but you will get to the point where the menu will show up. I am talking above the html source that is seen through firebug and the little + and – , which are the DOM nodes.

    I meanwhile will ask for someone with a Mac, since I don’t want to waste your time guessing in the dark. Please hang on.

    Thanks ,

    Nick

    Hi Nick,

    i think the problem is the z-index of the .avia_fullscreen_slider class ;)

    I have changed the z-index to -1 and tada the sibebar is back ;)

    I havent had the time to test if all the rest is working fine after the change i did but i will keep you posted …

    I hate the webdev tool in safari and a full firebug version is not available …

    Anyway thanks for all youe HELP guys. AMAZING SUPPORT !!!! KEEP IT COMMING ;)
