I didn’t find it anywhere in the documentation, what’s the image size for frontpage slider? My images get stretched and that’s not good. Also, is it possible to change the slider size? Thanks!October 7, 2011 at 10:47 pm #53549
I think they are 620 x 350 pixels. It’s in the last page of the documentation if I remember rightly.
You can’t change the blog slider size but you can create full width slideshows using the template builder. I think you can probably run a slideshow inside a column too as long as the content has featured images. You can make it the width you want by choosing that particular column size.October 8, 2011 at 12:55 pm #53550
Hey, and thanks for answering! I’ve tried with images 620 x 390, and they still get vertically stretched. I think the “slideshow” doesn’t function as competently as featured posts in the blog. I mean that I like the way I can manage the features by few clicks.
Maybe there’s a line or two in the code which determines whether to stretch the image or not. You know anything about this?October 8, 2011 at 4:51 pm #53551
Hey, in the functions.php it sets the image sizes like this:
$avia_config = array(‘width’=>620, ‘height’=>200); // image for pages
$avia_config[‘page_big’ = array(‘width’=>620, ‘height’=>350); // image for pages (slightly bigger version)
$avia_config = array(‘width’=>940, ‘height’=>390); // big images for fullsize pages and fullsize 2D & 3D slider
The image area for the slider with the sidebar next to it (2 columns) is 620×250, but I noticed that Kriesi uses images in the media library of 1000 x 650, although these are being cropped by the slider.
I remember when I was messing around with image sizes for columns, that if the image size is only one pixel different from the sizes set in the functions.php they get screwed up. Check your image sizes carefully when you do them in photoshop, so that the sizes in pixels are EXACTLY what is set in the arrays above. You can always customize the functions.php sizes to whatever you need also. But make sure the setting and the image sizes you upload are always the same. See if that helps. If not, ask dude or chris to help you.October 9, 2011 at 10:09 am #53552October 10, 2011 at 7:52 am #53553
Sorry, that should have been: “The image area for the slider with the sidebar next to it (2 columns) is 620×350…”!October 12, 2011 at 12:17 am #53554October 16, 2011 at 7:58 pm #53555
Hey, thanks a ton! I’ll mark this as solved now, will try these “tricks” tomorrow. Thanks again. :)October 17, 2011 at 2:17 pm #53556
