    Hi,

    I have a few queries regarding my Levitation theme…

    My URL is http://hollyandrose.com/

    1. How do I set up the blog as the home page and remove the home tab from the top menu?

    2 How would I put the Latest News Section (currently on my homepage) in the sidebar on my blog page.

    3. How do I set the photos in my portfolio, but leave them out of my posts (ie. under the post header)

    For example, if you look at my site under the most recent blog post -”Melbourne Cup Tea Sandwiches”, I want the portfolio photo to be displayed be the cucumber shot…How can I acheive this?

    4. When I add Calendar to my widgets in the blog sidebar, the alignment is off…Would you be able to assist with this?

    I would be very grateful if you could help me out with these last questions to set up my blog. The theme is fantastic and I have received so many compliments about it. Thank you.

    Hey,

    1.) Under Reading Settings (Settings > Reading) in WP admin, you can set up a static page as the front page so pick your blog page :)

    1b.) To remove the home tab from the main menu, open up header.php, find and remove this code:

    <li <?php if (is_front_page()){echo 'class="current_page_item"';} ?> ><a href="<?php echo get_settings('home'); ?>">Home</a></li>

    2.) Open up sidebar.php and copy this code to where you want the Latest News to appear:

    <div class='box box_small box3'>
    <div class='widget'>

    <?php
    $latest_posts = new kriesi_list_post_items;
    $latest_posts->recent_posts('Latest News');
    ?>
    </div>
    </div> <!--end box_small-->

    3.) Can you elaborate? Are you wanting to have the image in the Blog page view (list of posts such as http://hollyandrose.com/?page_id=5) but not on the individual page (such as http://hollyandrose.com/?p=455)?

    4.) Can you add the calendar widget back and I’ll take a look.

    Hi James,

    Thank you very much for your informative reply. I apologize for the delayed reply…I was overseas for the holidays.

    I actioned Items 1 and 2 and am very pleased with the results.

    In regards to Item 3:

    As far as I can tell, the only way I can add the portfolio photo into my portfolio page is to add the url of the image under

    - Levitation Options Panel – Image for Slider/Portfolio Full Size: URL

    However, adding the URL here places that photo at the top of the blog post. Most of the time, however, I have an intro in my post, introduce the recipe and THEN display the photo to be shown in the Portfolio Page.

    Does this make sense? Is there a way to add the photo to be displayed in the Portfolio Page later in the post (can I choose where it goes)??

    It sounds like a big ask and understand if this is not possible.

    As for Item 4, I’ve decided not to add the calendar into the sidebar, so that is fine.

    Thanks again James. Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year!

    Hey,

    it’s not easily possible to choose the location of the image. You can display it at the very top or at the bottom (after the content) but not in the middle. If you want to display the image at the bottom open up single.php and replace following code:

    if($frontpage_image != "") echo $lightbox[0].'<img class="item" src="'.$frontpage_image.'" alt="" />'.$lightbox[1];
    the_content('read more');

    with:

    the_content('read more');
    if($frontpage_image != "") echo $lightbox[0].'<img class="item" src="'.$frontpage_image.'" alt="" />'.$lightbox[1];
