    I want the theme to look clean and there is the “Categories” “Archives” and “Pages”… and “Search SIte” links that mess up that clean look. How do I get rid of these links? I don’t see an option for this in Display Options.

    Thanks.

    Hey,

    Is this in the sidebar, footer or both where you’d like to remove the links?

    Both.

    Hey,

    1) open up sidebar.php and delete following code:

    <div class='box box_small'>
    <h3>Categories</h3>
    <ul>
    <?php wp_list_cats('sort_column=name&optioncount=0&hierarchical=0'.$exclude); ?>
    </ul>
    </div>

    <div class='box box_small'>
    <h3>Archive</h3>
    <ul>
    <?php wp_get_archives('type=monthly'); ?>
    </ul>
    </div>

    2) To remove the footer “dummy widgets” open up footer.php (please don’t use wp backend editor otherwise it won’t work – use a ftp software to download/upload footer.php) and remove following code:

    <div class='box box_mini'>
    <h4>Pages</h4>
    <ul>
    <?php wp_list_pages('title_li=' ); ?>
    </ul>
    </div>

    <div class='box box_mini'>
    <h4>Archive</h4>
    <ul>
    <?php wp_get_archives('type=monthly'); ?>
    </ul>
    </div>

    <div class='box box_mini'>
    <h4>Categories</h4>
    <ul>
    <?php wp_list_cats('sort_column=name&optioncount=0&hierarchical=0'.$exclude); ?>
    </ul>
    </div>

    <div class='box box_mini'>
    <h4>Blogroll</h4>
    <ul>
    <?php wp_list_bookmarks('title_li=&categorize=0'); ?>
    </ul>
    </div>

    I had the same issue and the answer you provided worked perfectly here as well. However, I want to use the full width on the pages where I now removed the links – how do I do this? I cannot choose the “full width template” for posts.

    Thank you

    You can use the “Custom Post Template plugin” to select individual templates for your posts/portfolio entries. You can download it here:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-post-template/

    Now you need to create a template:

    a) Just make a copy of single.php, rename it to fullwidth_post.php and paste the following code before the first code line.

    <?php
    /*
    Template Name Posts: Fullwidth
    */
    ?>

    Then search for following code:

    $k_option['custom']['bodyclass'] = ""; //<-- Display Sidebar
    // $k_option['custom']['bodyclass'] = "fullwidth"; //<-- Dont display Sidebar

    and replace it with:

    // $k_option['custom']['bodyclass'] = ""; //<-- Display Sidebar
    $k_option['custom']['bodyclass'] = "fullwidth"; //<-- Dont display Sidebar

    Afterwards search for following code line:

    get_sidebar();

    and delete it.

    I’m sorry but I’m not sure how to create a new template. Cannot find that option anywhere in the Editor. Unless you want me to edit an excisting template and rename that one – but I don’t think that’s what you mean.

    Thank you again

    Hey,

    please use a ftp software or cpanel to download and upload files. Download single.php and make the modifications I posted above. Then upload the renamed single.php (now fullwidth_post.php) to the display theme folder.

    I also had the same issue and the answer you provided worked perfectly for making the posts full width. However, I also want to use the full width like the posts but on my pages where I also now removed the links – how do I do this? I cannot choose the “full width template” for posts.

    Thank you

    Here is a link to the page I would like to be full width: http://logiclogo.com/logo/?page_id=963

    Cheers

    Hey,

    open up template-blog.php (and archive.php if you like).

    Then search for following code:

    $k_option['custom']['bodyclass'] = ""; //<-- Display Sidebar
    // $k_option['custom']['bodyclass'] = "fullwidth"; //<-- Dont display Sidebar

    and replace it with:

    // $k_option['custom']['bodyclass'] = ""; //<-- Display Sidebar
    $k_option['custom']['bodyclass'] = "fullwidth"; //<-- Dont display Sidebar

    Afterwards search for following code line:

    get_sidebar();

    and delete it.

    Thanks Dude that work great :-)

    Could you please also tell me how to make the Archive page full width too?

    Also on the page (http://logiclogo.com/logo/?p=980#comments) how can I change the words ‘Works On Canvas’ that links to the Archive page to ‘Go Back’ but then links to page (http://logiclogo.com/logo/?page_id=963)?

    One other thing, how can I add a Title and some text top of page http://logiclogo.com/logo/?page_id=963?

    Cheers :-)

    #42139

    Hey,

    1) modify archive.php the same way like template-blog.php (see instructions above)

    2) Are you sure you want to do this? If a post is assigned to more categories the user can’t choose if he wants to go back to the first or to the second archive page…

    3) Open up template_blog.php and insert your content after:

    <div id="content">

    i.e. like:

    <div id="content">
    <h2>My headline</h2>
